Tami Anastasia has been invited to be a guest speaker on Spousal Resistance at the next monthly Geriatric Care Managers meeting. It is common to encounter resistance from the spouse taking care of a loved one with dementia when trying to introduce care in the home. She will be discussing what resistant behavior is, spousal resistant behavior mindsets – why the caregiver spouse resists getting outside support/help, and provide some suggestions on how to deal with the caregiver spouse when resistance occurs.
